Psychonauts 2!

In speaking with PSM3, Tim Schaffer let loose with news I have damn near prayed for since completing the first game. ”I’m ready to do it. I’d love to do it. It’s really a question of getting a publisher who’s interested in doing it.” I sincerely hope that some publisher reads this quote and says, “Hey, that game was fucking brilliant! Of course we shall publish the sequel. It will be glorious!” or something like that.
Psychonauts is one of those games that must be played to be fully appreciated. It is nothing short of classic in every sense of the word. It was criminally under promoted and therefore sold well below any reasonable level. It is loved by those who have played it not only for its gameplay but its writing as well. It is funny, touching, poignant, and extremely well acted. The gameplay is standard platformer fare but done brilliantly. It is innovative and clever, two words not used enough when talking about games. And it just works. Everything just hits on every level. You owe it to yourself to find this game through whatever means you have available and give it a go. PS2 or Xbox really makes no difference here. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
